Mr. Dawley joined the Oakview Middle School Performing Arts Department!
Mr. Dawley is very excited to join the Oakview Choir family after teaching for four years in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District and two years in the Paw Paw Public School District! He has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Oakland University and is currently pursuing his Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Oakland University. In addition to being a choir director, he is also very involved in theatre. He has directed, music directed, choreographed, stage managed, tech directed, produced, and acted professionally in over 50 productions. Mr. Dawley has performed with choirs and theatre companies all over the United States including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, Maine, and New York. He has been in a number of movies and commercials as well. He loves to travel (especially to New York City). Mr. Dawley was selected from thousands of nominations as a quarter-finalist for the 2017 Grammy Music Educator Award.
